Boots Skincare

Last June, my friend and I went on a trip to Thailand, Bangkok and we really shop till we're crazy!!! I didn't know there is a Boots pharmacy there till my my friend told me about it. After which, we realised that it's something like Guardian pharmacy selling all kinds of beauty products, cosmetics, medicine etc...
And I always melt when I see skincare products especially those fruity body washes, moisturisers and scrubs. In the end, I bought a total of 6 items which I think still considered quite little and paid by my debit card.
Natural Collection: Wild Strawberry Body Cream

Photobucket

One of the products that caught my eye is this jar with pink and white cream. It smells just like Strawberry sundae!!! And it looks like strawberry ice cream as well with the layers of 'jam like' lotion together with creamy white lotion. What I really like about it is firstly, of course the sweet scent of strawberries that make you thirst for strawberry ice cream and of course, the body cream is easily absorbed by the skin. So it does not leave any greasy and sticky feeling on the skin. And after that, I feel that my body smells like strawberry ice cream!!! I forgot how much it really costs but definitely less than S$10.

Carribean Cocktail: Barbados Body Wash (Watermlon and Mango)

And how can I forget to look for body wash? I browse for quite a long time and asked the salesgirl to find a body wash suitable for dry skin. I bought a total of 3 types of body wash but only started to use one. This Barbados Body Wash smells like fruit juice of watermelon and mango. Smells really good and refreshing. I always look forward to opening this tube of body wash everytime in the bathroom. Although the amount is not a lot, it's a joy bathing myself in this. It's still considered moisturising though I have used more moisturising body wash before but at least, i don't get skin irritation like stuff from The Body Shop. Even my sister now uses this too.

Kinda regret that I bought so little stuff from there... Really liked the strawberry body cream and the Barbados Body Wash. Bought 2 bottles/tubes for each actually.... I'm looking forward to using the Jasmine and Pandan body wash that I bought as well.

Your Choice

I was buying a doughnut the other day along with a few of my friends (yes yummy doughnuts!!!) While i was munching away on my dougnuts one of my friends gave a comment...

"Doughnuts are so not value for money! Look at the big hole in the middle! They should charge less!!!"

Hearing her comments, some of my friends nodded in unison on the seeming obvious answer...I reflected on what she say and realize how sad this type of thinking was. Why look at the flaws of this simple doughnut...some of you may be wondering what am i trying to say or what message am i trying to bring across? Why look at the big hole in the middle when we should look at the doughnut as a whole? Isn't the doughnut nice and crunchy?

We have a choice to decide and see things the way we want them, why do you choose the pessimistic point of view? Be optimistic! Imagine not buying the doughnut and in the end due to this seemingly "cheated" feeling not wanting to take the doughnut in the end. Always remember!

Be it doughnuts or whatever, look at the bigger picture and be positive. For every bad thing that happens there will always be a good thing in the end = )

Why donate?

I overheard this conversation recently (by accident k!!!)

"Aiya, no need to donate so much! You donate ah i think 50% also do not go to the victims!"

And the person who said was like so proud of himself, the face carry a kind of smugness which i so want to slap. Why donate? Why place your dollar into the cookie jug then when we have no idea if the victims of the recent disaster will receive the money? I believe all of us know of the Myanmar incident and have read how the authorities might not be distributing the money to the victims and keeping it for themselves.

And even if they donate are we certain that the ppl who needs it receives it? To tell you the truth we will never know. Wait i hear a very loud HMPH from somewhere...Why donate then? Why bothered? Cause in the end even if 90% of our money do not go to the victim AT LEAST 10% does. AT LEAST we know that 10% goes to the people.

Imagine if we do not even bother in the first place, will they be any help
at all going to them in the first place? ZERO. KOSONG. NOTHING. So why do want to hold back and not help then? Cause we feel that we are cheated? Cause they are playing on our emotions? Let's think of it then...these ppl have been thru an ordeal which all of us will never be able to understand. the pain of losing a love one and the trauma that the person has to go thru for the rest of their life will never end.

The cries of very own babies, loved ones going through the night and yet nothing could be done...we will never understand it until we experience it. What is the money you donated then? $1? $5? Will it affect you in anyway? Maybe you might not be able to purchase that new dress or even new shirt or technological gadget. But for them it will be forever gone they will never be able to try or use it.

Ultimately i think the question would be the value of money to you. What does it mean to you actually? Some ppl hold a $5 in their hand and they say aiya costs so expensive now. What is $5 now? Pass the $5 to a person who have not had a meal in a day. The $5 means 10 times more than you now. In Conclusion, help cause you want to and don't let money control you for in the end they are just pieces of paper

Great Body Scrubs

I often go for half-leg waxing and often get ingrown hair. I get really disturbed coz the hair seems to be just stuck in the skin. So I've followed her advice to do weekly scrub or exfoliation. And that really helped me a lot. I bought a whitening shower gel from her and I apply it on my bath gloves.. and it's so shiok, coz the shower gel smells great too. too bad, I can't find a picture online to be posted here and I'm too lazy to take a picture.. The brand is called Skin Logical from Germany and it costs me $98 but got discount la, I think 15% at that time I bought it.

Another exfoliation scrub I often used is from L'oreal. It was recommended to me by a sales lady at SASA. And it's not too bad though the smell is of quite strong mint with added other stuff.. not sure. But I still prefer flower and fruity smells though. I could see some minor improvement on my hidden hairs but of course must have the disciplne which I lack sometimes. Anyway, the L'oreal scrub is quite thick, so I have to squeeze out a lot so that it's enough for my body. Quite heart pain to see that I use so much at a go... But at least it's useful and good. The best thing is that it is not very ex. i think only $29 plus. But I think all scrubs are actually quite good but I dislike those which the grains are very coarse, and it makes my skin says "Ouch!"

I used to love the products from The Natural Source, and I tried almost everything there including the desert plum mineral salt rub as well. It's really good but I don't really like the packaging because it's in a very big glass tub. Whenever I need to use, I have bring the glass tub into the bathroom, and th scrub contains a lot of those essential oils, and it makes handling messy after bath. I have to wipe the glass tub thorougly so that it doesn't make the cabinet dirty and oily. But without a doubt, the essential oil is really good for people who have dry skin like me. But I mean Singaporeans prefer hassle-free routines, and of course compared to the L'oreal, this is quite a chore to use. By the way, I don't really like the essential oil sticking on my skin after bath although it's effective for dry skin.

However, they do have one body exfoliation scrub which is heavenly. It has a kind of herbal smell but not too strong. And I feel good and refreshed after using it. The little grains are not coarse, and it just glides through your skin. And trust me, you will not mind wasting too much each time because you will want more of it on the skin. It comes in a tube so it's very easy to use and I always look foward to my 'scrubbing' sessions using this product. It's extremely heavenly!!!
But now, I'm trying to look for body scrubs from Japan coz they use very natural ingredients such as Soybean, charcoal etc.. Maybe will be heading to SASA these few days to ask the sales lady about Japanese body scrubs.

Know why a gal tells a guy she feels INSECURE???

"I don't feel secure"
"I do not have a sense of security being with you"

Guys usually shrug at this statement and they are probably thinking to themselves "AGAIN" Well and it is very true, gals always mention this word to their other half and guys just do not have a clue why they are mentioning this "Security" thingy to them. Gals do not mention this security issue for the fun of it or to terrorize the guys already weary mind, there is a reason to it.

A guy may have the money and career and this to a guy is the main source of security they can provide to their gal BUT is that all wat a gal wants? If a guy wants to make a gal really feel secure, he should first "RESPECT THE WOMAN" A simple hug, a gentle kiss upon the cheeks and the loving gaze into her eyes is far more useful than diamonds (Of course a diamond along with the above would be good) and when a gal thinks bout u, it will not be the diamond that you gave that she remembers but the warmth and love you gave.

"ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN SHE NEEDS SOMEONE" and play the role of the punching bag! Sometimes a gal just needs someone she can complain to so LISTEN for goodness sake. There is no need for a solution to the problem. JUST LISTEN!!! Gals are genetically different from guys!

"GAIN THE APPROVAL OF HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS" Gals are easily influence by their surroundings especially by they family members and friends. Gain their wrath and they will sprouting nonsense about you to her and in the end guess who is the one to suffer? Furthermore if your gain their favor, they will even pacify her when you pissed her off!

The most important factor to look at "KEEP THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR OTHER GAL FRENZ" some gals will say they understand and blah blah blah. Do you really think that we truly understand? Oh pls! We are born jealous in the first place! If you want to be close to the other gal why bother being with me in the first place! What do you think we are? If you have no absolutely no choice but to hang out with the gal, let your girlfriend know! Be true and honest to her and she will know there is no hanky panky happening!

Last but not least "SWEET TALK PLEASE" Love is a mysterious thing to begin with...although we know...but we still want to hear it...our ears are one of our largest weakness...why do you think we go crazy whenever we hear the word SALE???

I need body moisturiser!!!!

I just don't understand why I have such dry skin. It's been with me for so long and I've been searching for the right body moisturiser for me!

The best so far I've used is The Natural Source Desert Plum Body Whip.

Actually, the sugarcane body whip is much more popular and it smells really wonderful. However, the lady advised me to use the Desert plum as i have dry skin and blemishes as well. I've been using it for about 3 yrs plus and it still works quite well for me. My sister can't stand the smell but I quite like it. But what I really like is the fast absorption by the skin. It's not oily coz I think it's not oil based but water based.

I tried using stuff from The Bodyshop but oh goodness! My sister and I are allergic to the products. She will get rashes while I get lumps on my skin. Of course I would love to use stuff from Bodyshop coz it's much cheaper compared to The Natural Source. But just not suitable.

Lately, I am trying a body moisturiser from Khiels. Wah really quite expensive but it's supposed to be very good for dry skin.

It's really not too bad.. Although it is thick and creamy, the skin absorbs it quite quickly compared to the moisturiser from Bodyshop that takes really so long to absorb. Although the khiels one does not smell as nice as the one from The Natural Source, it's really much more moisturising. My skin doesn't feel itchy after long hours too.

My pedicurist also recommended me this foot cream called Akileine Hydra Defense Balm and I use it for my legs too. It's supposed to protect the skin 24 hours. I like it too which is expensive as well. But really not too bad, I also have a tube of it in my work place. Whenever, I feel itchiness, I can apply and instantly, it works.

Now my skin feels less flaky and itchy after applying moisturiser from time to time although I still scratch without myself knowing it. But at least there's improvement. Hopefully, I can find a product to get rid of my blemishes too.

More Trains!! But Where Is The Bus?

There has been a whole lot of controversy regarding the increased number of trains that SMRT is releasing into the market! Woo Hoo! Every morning the mad rush for the mrt to head to my workplace is total madness...Imagine sticking to the train door...and when there is a sudden stop u see ppl beside u trying to grab the nearest thing possible (in which many case is me actually).

I sincerely applaud this great move to go ahead with this idea to release more trains so that our waiting time is reduces and we have more space to STAND, mind you not sit but well, as long as we have a decent place to stand, i guess its ok after all.

What bout the bus then? Since there is so much news regarding trains being released into the market, up till today there is still no news from the respective bus operators! SBS & TIBS still gives us waiting times of up to 19 min for non-peak and 16 min for peak, (from experience by the way) although our transport system is one of the best in the world BUT let's not compare with other countries in the end shall we? Let's compare with our other modes of transport which includes Taxis and MRTs, i got to say all of them are really improving in the end...But now i think it is time for buses to pull up their socks and show one thing...if we are to truly move towards a society to encourage public transport...then pls increase the number of ALL public transport and selected entities instead. = )
